Paris Hotels

Ooh la la! I have been very "itchy" and went surfing for hotels in Paris to see how much they may cost if ever I get to go there end of this year.

Voila! Je vous presente Villa Royale a 2, Rue Duperre, Paris!

The cheapest room here on http://www.wotif.com/ is currently going for 114 Euros (approx. USD$155 or RM528!). Well.... maybe I could stay a night or two here, and then move on to one of the many Premier Classe hotels (see pics below). They go from as low as 54 Euros (USD$76 or RM250) per room for 3 people!

Not too bad, huh?

Together We Can End Extreme Poverty And Hunger

Every year, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around worldwide celebrate World Thinking Day on 22 February. This year, their theme or tagline is "Together We Can End Extreme Poverty And Hunger". This is a theme that resonates within me as I've always thought that most governments around the world have the resources to help citizens burdened by these two conditions, but instead are spending resources aka taxpayers' money on redundant submarines and fighter copters, among others.

The good Girl Guides and Scouts are organising various activities to raise money for 5 of the most impoverished countries in the world, namely:-

Haiti (a Francophone country), in the Western Hemisphere
Sudan, in the Arab region
Zimbabwe, in the African region
Maldives, in the Asia Pacific region
Georgia, in the European region

Not too sure what the Malaysian chapter of the Girl Guides will be doing for this. You're welcome to check out and decipher their site. There may be another site that I'm not aware of, do let me know if you find it.

For more info on World Thinking Day 2010, go to http://www.worldthinkingday.org/ , where you can download the above postcard to be sent to friends around the world, and learn more about how to help or donate.

Butterflies in Brass

Mon Dieu! It has been almost a month since I last updated this blog. I really hope this isn't the start of my "resolution" dissolving.

At least I managed to get something to add to the house. Not sure if they're "French" but they do fit the overal theme I have in mind.

Two vintage-looking metal candleholders for the price of an average lunch! And they match my wrought iron grilles, too. They could be brass, but I'm not sure. I bought these at Jaya Jusco, Mid Valley Megamall, and am thinking of getting more.

As they say...

Plus on est the fous!

The more the merrier!

Au revoir!
